This steel was part of a bulk truckload buy. It is our old stock AR500 but was purchased and cut in bulk in order for us to be able to provide these extremely discounted prices. This is not our typical surplus steel in that there will be no pitting or surface rust. All of the steel was shot blasted prior to cutting.
Perfect for short action rifle use as well as high volume pistol use, these 3/8" AR500 steel targets are made to last. Like all of our targets, they have been precision cut using a CNC Laser in order to reduce any heat affected zone leaving you with the most durable and longest lasting target on the market - do no confuse these with cheaper plasma cut targets! Targets include mounting holes cut to accept 1/2" hardware, we recommend using at least grade 5 hardware. The static targets are cut to fit a 1/2” carriage bolt to be mounted to a steel post, 2x4 or other structure.
These 3/8" AR500 targets are perfect for short action rifles up to .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor and all pistol calibers. This is a complete package containing absolutely everything you will need aside from the wood 2x4. It contains our extremely sturdy static target stand, our simple and easy to use static target hanger which includes all of the necessary mounting hardware including a 1/2" carriage bolt and lock nut, a proprietary compression spring, as well as a Surplus 3/8" AR500 12"x20" static target. While these targets are designed for handgun use in order to allow faster follow up shots, they will work well with rifles as well as long as proper minimum distance is maintained. For rifle use, we recommend staking the stand into the ground to avoid any unwanted movement.
Targets are shipped unpainted.

Target was delivered quickly and nicely packaged. Well built base and very easy to set up. Steel target is outstanding! Went to the range and set it up behind the speed rack I purchased at 100 yards for rifle transitions. Took all 500 rounds no issues. Will be buying more not that the bathroom remodel is done. Keep up the good work!!
I just received my steel plate today (May, 7, 2020) and had to go shoot it. I put about 100 9mm and 100 5.56 on the plate and didn’t do any damage. It still looks new. I was shooting from about 30yards and worked my way in. I would definitely recommenced to anyone that loves shooting steel and is tired of putting up paper targets. I love mine and can’t wait to put some more rounds in.
It's a sad day to see these go to clearance because the 3/8 inch AR500 Torso is my go-to target package. It's simple and literally bullet proof. They say not to stack heavy hitting rounds on it too close but I've shot thousands of 5.56(including green tip) and 7.62 NATO at 30 yards with no ill effects. The targets are pock marked but nothing that is deeper than a couple thousandths. I've had to replace the wood a few times and I'm just now having to replace the carriage bolt. Pistol, rifle, shotgun, magnum, you name it. The base could be more stable but it's fine if you use an old tire to weigh it down.
