3/8" AR500 12"x20" Steel Target Starter Package

The 3/8" AR500 12"x20" Steel Target Starter Package gives you nearly everything needed to build a complete static steel target setup. The package includes a 12"x20" 3/8" AR500 steel target, static target stand, static hanger, mounting hardware, one can of white target paint, one can of orange target paint and a 12"x17" vitals stencil sized to match the 12"x20" silhouette. The only major component you need to supply is a wood 2x4. The target is CNC laser-cut from domestic AR500 steel and the system is made in the USA.

The static mounting system includes a 1/2" carriage bolt, lock nut and proprietary compression spring. The stand and hanger are zinc plated for added weather resistance. This package is rated for all pistol cartridges and short-action rifle cartridges through .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at the proper shooting distances. Assembly

Minor assembly is required. The stand and hanger use the included 1/2" hardware. A 3/4" wrench or socket can be used to tighten the hardware, and an adjustable wrench can also be used.

The stand requires two tools during assembly, with one holding the nut while the other tightens the bolt. The hanger requires one tool because the shoulder of the carriage bolt locks into the target cutout during tightening.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the target, stand, hanger, spring and mounting hardware before every session. Replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
