DIY KYL Rack Stand Kit

The DIY KYL Rack Stand Kit gives you the hardware foundation to build a custom Know Your Limits target rack using customer-supplied EMT conduit. The kit includes two steel end brackets and six retaining pins, letting you customize the rack width, leg height, target count and overall configuration instead of being locked into a prebuilt stand.

The system uses 3/4" EMT for the legs and crossbar, with 1" EMT used as spacers between targets. A standard setup uses 29.9" EMT cuts with 5/16" holes for the retaining pins, but the crossbar and legs can be adjusted to suit your setup. Spacer layouts can be built for 3-, 4- or 5-target racks, and the crossbar can be extended for additional targets. Leave approximately 0.5"-1.0" of clearance between components so the targets can spin freely.

Assembly

Cut 3/4" EMT conduit to the desired lengths for the legs and crossbar. The supplied standard setup uses 29.9" cuts with 5/16" holes drilled for the retaining pins. Use 1" EMT to create spacers between targets. Spacer layouts can be configured for 3-, 4- or 5-target racks, or the crossbar can be extended to accommodate additional targets. Maintain approximately 0.5"-1.0" of clearance for smooth target movement.

Safety and Usage

Shooting distance, ammunition compatibility and target ratings are determined by the KYL target plates installed on the stand. Always follow the safety and distance requirements for the specific targets being used. Inspect the EMT conduit, end brackets, retaining pins, spacers and target mounting components before every session. Make sure the completed stand is stable before shooting and replace any component that shows deformation, cracking or excessive wear.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
