The Speed Rack Target Hanger is the building block of the ShootSteel Speed Rack system. Add one to expand an existing Speed Rack with more target positions, or buy multiples to build a completely custom shooting rack on your own 2x4 crossmember. Each hanger mounts to any standard 2x4 at your chosen spacing and accepts 3/8" and 1/2" ShootSteel static targets without additional hardware. Want to see the Speed Rack system in action? The hanger is zinc-plated for weather and abrasion resistance and ships with all mounting hardware for the target plus two lag screws to secure the hanger to the 2x4 crossmember at your desired position. Minor assembly required. All ShootSteel hangers use 1/2" hardware with a 3/4" wrench or socket. Manufactured in the United States.

Minimum shooting distances are determined by the target plate used with this hanger. Always inspect the hanger and all hardware before every session. Replace any component that shows deformation or wear. Follow standard ShootSteel minimum distance guidelines for your cartridge and target combination. Always use quality eye and ear protection.
FAQs
Can I use this hanger to build a custom rack from scratch?
Yes. Each hanger mounts independently to a 2x4 crossmember using the included lag screws, so you can space multiple hangers at any interval along a standard lumber crossmember to create a custom rack layout. The only additional materials needed are a 2x4 and a stand or uprights to support it.
What targets are compatible with this hanger?
The hanger works with both 3/8" steel targets and 1/2" steel targets across the ShootSteel static target lineup.
Does assembly require tools?
Yes. Minor assembly is required using a 3/4" wrench, socket or adjustable wrench to tighten the 1/2" hardware. A drill or screwdriver is needed to drive the lag screws into the 2x4 crossmember.
Why is the hanger zinc-plated instead of painted?
Zinc plating provides long-term weather and abrasion resistance without chipping or requiring touch-ups after use. On a hanger that mounts near the target face and takes regular splash exposure, zinc plating outlasts paint significantly in outdoor conditions.
