The 1/2" AR500 6" Gong 2-Pack is an efficient way to add half-inch AR500 steel to your range setup. Two 6" CNC laser-cut AR500 gongs rated for all centerfire handguns and rifle cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum. The compact 6" diameter makes these plates a strong choice for precision pistol drills, carbine transitions and longer-distance rifle work where a smaller challenge target is the goal. Same domestic AR500 steel and CNC laser-cut precision as every ShootSteel target. Ships unpainted without chain or mounting hardware. Made in the USA.
Note: These plates may have light surface patina from storage. This has no effect on the structural integrity, hardness or performance of the target. A coat of ShootSteel Target Paint before your first session restores full visibility downrange and protects the surface going forward.
For chain and mounting hardware, see the 15" Steel Chain Mounting Kit or the Rubber Chain Mounting Kit.

FAQs
What calibers are these targets rated for?
All centerfire handguns at 10 yards minimum and rifle cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum. For rifles at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity, 100 yards minimum is the starting point. Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face.
Why might these plates have surface patina?
AR500 steel will develop surface oxidation when exposed to air and moisture during storage. This is a surface-level characteristic only and has no effect on the hardness, structural integrity or rated performance of the plate. Paint before your first session and shoot with full confidence.
Why 6" for precision work?
A 6" strike face demands more precise shot placement than larger gong sizes at equivalent distances, which builds better accuracy habits under pressure. It is also a practical size for transition drills where you want a distinct but achievable target between strings.
What chain and hardware do I need?
Chain and mounting hardware are not included. See the 15" Steel Chain Mounting Kit or the Rubber Chain Mounting Kit for compatible options.
Why CNC laser-cut instead of plasma-cut?
CNC laser-cutting controls the heat-affected zone more precisely than plasma cutting, preserving hardness at the plate edge. The result is a cleaner perimeter, longer plate life and more predictable splatter behavior on impact.
Does this pack ship painted?
No. All ShootSteel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange offer the best contrast downrange for tracking hits.
Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. These targets are manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.
Do you warranty your products?
Yes. We stand behind our products.
