What targets is this kit compatible with?
This kit is compatible with all ShootSteel gong targets with 1/2" mounting holes. If you are unsure whether your target has a 1/2" mounting hole, check the product page for your specific plate.
What is the advantage of rubber chain over steel chain?
Rubber chain absorbs a portion of the impact energy from each hit before it reaches the mounting hardware, which reduces wear on quick links and stand connection points over time. It also dampens the metallic ring that steel chain transmits on impact, which some shooters prefer in noise-sensitive environments or for hearing protection purposes.
Is this kit suitable for 50 BMG or big-bore cartridges?
No. For 50 BMG, .416 Barrett and .408 CheyTac, use the dedicated 50 BMG Gong Mounting Kit, which includes reinforced hardware sized for big-bore energy levels.
