The 1/2" AR500 Steel Target Gong with T-Post Gong Hangers pairs CNC laser-cut steel targets with T-Post Gong Hanger pairs for a portable rifle and handgun range setup. Choose from an 8" round gong, 10" round gong or 9"x15" silhouette target. Each target is CNC laser-cut from domestic 1/2" AR500 steel and rated for all centerfire handguns and rifle cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum when used at the specified minimum shooting distances. Add standard T-posts, chain and mounting hardware to complete your setup. Targets ship unpainted. Made in the USA.

The T-Post Gong Hangers provide a simple way to build a multi-target range without a large stand or permanent structure. Pair the targets with the 15" Steel Chain Mounting Kit or the 8" Rubber Chain Gong Target Mounting Kit. Chain, T-posts and mounting hardware are not included.

Assembly

Install the T-Post Gong Hangers on compatible standard T-posts, then suspend the targets using your selected chain and mounting hardware. For a complete hanging solution, use the 15" Steel Chain Mounting Kit or 8" Rubber Chain Gong Target Mounting Kit. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• .338 Lapua Magnum: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the plates, hangers, chain and mounting hardware before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

What target sizes are available?
Choose from an 8" round gong, 10" round gong or 9"x15" silhouette target. All options are CNC laser-cut from domestic 1/2" AR500 steel.

What calibers are these targets rated for?
The 1/2" AR500 targets are rated for all centerfire handguns and rifle cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum when used at the specified minimum shooting distances. Handguns require at least 10 yards. Rifles at or below 3,000 fps require at least 100 yards, while rifles above 3,000 fps require at least 200 yards. .338 Lapua Magnum requires a minimum of 200 yards.

What else do I need to complete the setup?
The package includes the selected AR500 targets and T-Post Gong Hanger pairs. You will need compatible T-posts, chain and mounting hardware to complete the range setup.

What chain and mounting hardware can I use?
Pair the targets with the 15" Steel Chain Mounting Kit or the 8" Rubber Chain Gong Target Mounting Kit. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware.

Why are the targets CNC laser-cut?
CNC laser-cutting helps control the heat-affected zone around the target perimeter, preserving hardness at the plate edge while producing a clean, consistent cut.

Does this package ship painted?
No. All Shoot Steel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange offer strong contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. These targets are manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
