1/2" AR500 Gong Bundle | 4" and 6"

The 1/2" AR500 Gong Bundle gives you four half-inch AR500 steel targets in two compact sizes: two 4" gongs and two 6" gongs. The combination is purpose-built for precision work. The 4" plate demands tight shot placement at any distance. The 6" gives you a step up for faster drills and transitions without sacrificing the challenge. Both sizes are CNC laser-cut from domestic AR500 steel and rated for all centerfire handguns and rifle cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum. Ships unpainted without chain or mounting hardware. Made in the USA.

For hanging hardware, the T-Post Gong Hangers work well with two T-posts and chain. Pair with the 15" Steel Chain Mounting Kit or the Rubber Chain Mounting Kit to complete your setup.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• .338 Lapua Magnum: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect plates before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

What calibers are these targets rated for?
All centerfire handguns at 10 yards minimum and rifle cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum. For rifles at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity, 100 yards minimum is the starting point. Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face.

Why two sizes in one bundle?
The 4" and 6" combination lets you run a structured precision progression in the same session. Work the 4" for tight accuracy drills, then transition to the 6" for speed work. Having both sizes set up side by side also builds target discrimination and lateral movement skills that single-size setups do not.

What chain and hardware do I need?

Why CNC laser-cut instead of plasma-cut?
CNC laser-cutting controls the heat-affected zone more precisely than plasma cutting, preserving hardness at the plate edge. The result is a cleaner perimeter, longer plate life and more predictable splatter behavior on impact.

Does this bundle ship painted?
No. All ShootSteel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange offer the best contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. These targets are manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with ShootSteel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to ShootSteel specifications
