The 1/2" AR500 Steel Target and T-Post Hanger System pairs a CNC laser-cut silhouette target with a patented zinc-plated T-post hanger for a fast, portable steel target setup. Choose a 9"x15" target weighing 16 lbs. or a 12"x20" target weighing 29 lbs. Both plates are cut from 1/2" AR500 steel and rated for centerfire handguns and rifle cartridges including .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor when used at the specified minimum shooting distances. The hanger drops onto a standard steel T-post without tools, making setup and target changes quick at the range. T-post not included. Made in the USA.

CNC laser-cutting helps control the heat-affected zone around the plate perimeter, preserving hardness at the edges while producing a clean, consistent cut. The zinc-plated T-post hanger gives you a simple mounting system that can be installed or removed without tools. Keep an extra T-Post Hanger on hand if you want to swap between target sizes or build additional target stations.

Assembly

Place the hanger over a compatible standard steel T-post and verify that it is securely seated before shooting. The hanger is designed for tool-free installation. T-post profiles can vary slightly by manufacturer, so confirm fit when purchasing posts.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the target plate, hanger and T-post before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

Should I choose the 9"x15" or 12"x20" target?
Choose the 9"x15" target when you want a smaller strike face and a lighter 16 lb. plate. Choose the 12"x20" target when you want a larger aiming area for increased visibility at distance. The 12"x20" plate weighs 29 lbs.

What calibers is the 1/2" AR500 silhouette rated for?
The target is rated for centerfire handguns at a minimum of 10 yards and rifle cartridges including .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at a minimum of 100 yards. Rifles above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity require a minimum distance of 200 yards. Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face.

Will the hanger fit standard T-posts?
The hanger is designed for standard steel T-posts commonly available at farm, ranch and hardware stores. Post profiles can vary slightly by manufacturer, so confirm fit when purchasing your T-post. The T-post is not included.

How quickly can I set up the target?
The patented zinc-plated hanger drops onto a compatible standard steel T-post without tools, making it easy to set up, remove or move the target between range sessions.

Are there options for faster rifle rounds?

No. All Shoot Steel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange offer strong contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. This target is manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
