Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Steel Gong Target Package

The Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Steel Gong Target Package gives you two complete 9"x15" steel gong targets plus two pairs of T-post gong hangers for building a versatile two-target range setup. Each gong is CNC laser-cut from Swedish-made 1/2" Hardox® AR550 steel and features a 1/2" mounting hole. The complete Shoot Steel package is manufactured in the United States.

Hardox® AR550 is harder than AR500 and provides increased resistance to pitting and surface deformation, particularly with higher-velocity rifle impacts. The included hanger pairs give you a foundation for mounting each gong on a compatible T-post setup, while chain and target mounting hardware are sold separately. This package is rated for all centerfire handguns and rifles through .300 Win Mag when used at the proper minimum shooting distance.

Setup

Install each hanger pair on a compatible T-post and suspend the gong using appropriate chain and 1/2" target mounting hardware. The targets ship unpainted. Verify that the gongs hang securely and can move freely before shooting.

Safety and Usage

This 1/2" Hardox® AR550 target package is rated for all centerfire handguns and rifles through .300 Win Mag when used at the proper minimum shooting distance.

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle under 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle over 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 150 yards minimum
• Long-action rifles: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting or cratering

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the targets, hangers, chain and mounting hardware before every session. Replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting and replace any mounting component showing damage or excessive wear. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
