3/8" AR500 Steel Target, T-Post Hanger & T-Post Protector System

The 3/8" AR500 Steel Target, T-Post Hanger & T-Post Protector System combines your choice of a 9"x15" or 12"x20" silhouette target with a patented T-post hanger and 20" T-Post Protector. The target and protector are made from domestic 3/8" AR500 steel, with the target CNC laser-cut for a clean, consistent strike face. The protector mounts to the face of a standard steel T-post to help shield it from low hits that can notch, weaken or cut through an unprotected post. Made in the USA.

The zinc-plated T-post hanger drops directly over a standard steel T-post for fast setup and easy target changes. A standard target spring is included with the hanger system. The 20" protector adds a sacrificial AR500 barrier in front of the post while leaving the target exposed above it. Both target sizes are rated for all centerfire handguns and short-action rifles through .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at the proper minimum shooting distances. Assembly

Mount the selected target to the patented hanger using the included standard spring and appropriate mounting components, then slide the hanger over a compatible standard steel T-post. Install the 20" protector on the face of the T-post to shield the post from low impacts. Verify the target, hanger, spring, protector and post are secure before shooting.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Maximum rated cartridges: .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the target, hanger, spring, protector, T-post and mounting components before every session. Replace any target or protector that shows cratering or severe pitting and replace damaged posts or mounting components before continuing. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

What does the T-Post Protector do?
The 20" AR500 protector mounts in front of the T-post and takes low impacts that might otherwise strike, notch or weaken the post. It helps extend the usable life of the T-post in high-volume range setups.

Is the T-Post Protector one plate or multiple pieces?
It is one 20" protector plate made from 3/8" AR500 steel. It mounts to the face of the T-post to help shield the post from low hits.

How does the T-post hanger work?
The patented hanger mounts to the target and slides directly over a standard steel T-post. Once assembled, the target can be installed or relocated without tools at the post itself.

Is a spring included?
Yes. The package includes the standard target spring used with this T-post hanger setup. It is not the heavy-duty spring used on other Shoot Steel target systems.

Will the hanger fit standard T-posts?
The hanger is designed for standard steel T-posts commonly available from farm, ranch and hardware stores. Post profiles can vary slightly by manufacturer, so confirm fit before purchasing posts in quantity.

Does this system ship painted?
No. Shoot Steel targets and protector plates ship unpainted. White and bright orange provide strong contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. This product is manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

• Normal wear, pitting, cratering and target face degradation are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
