3/8" AR500 Steel Static Target & Upright Stand Package

The 3/8" AR500 Steel Static Target & Upright Stand Package gives you a complete all-steel target setup with your choice of a 9"x15" or 12"x20" static target. Each package includes the Upright, All-Steel Target Stand, one Slide-Lock Hanger, one heavy-duty die spring and one 3/8" AR500 static target. The stand uses a 3/8" AR500 upright and 1/4" AR400 legs, eliminating the need for wood posts or T-posts. Made in the USA.

The 1/4" AR400 legs are designed to handle direct pistol hits, while the wide base helps keep the stand stable on uneven ground without staking. The 3/8" AR500 upright and target are CNC laser-cut, and the heavy-duty die spring helps absorb impact energy while keeping the target positioned for follow-up shots. The included Slide-Lock Hanger works with Shoot Steel static-style targets, making it easy to change target plates. Additional Slide-Lock Hangers are available separately.

Assembly

Assemble the all-steel stand using the included AR400 legs, AR500 upright, die spring and Slide-Lock Hanger, then install your selected target plate. The Slide-Lock system allows compatible static targets to be changed without replacing the stand.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Maximum rated cartridges: .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the target, hanger, spring, upright and legs before every session. Replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting and replace damaged stand components before continuing. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

FAQs

What is the difference between the 9"x15" and 12"x20" target options?
The 9"x15" target provides a smaller strike area for precision work and tighter transitions. The 12"x20" target gives you a larger silhouette for general pistol and rifle training.

What calibers is this package rated for?
The 3/8" AR500 target is rated for all centerfire handguns and short-action rifles through .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor when used at the proper minimum shooting distances.

What makes this stand different from a wood or T-post setup?
The Upright, All-Steel Target Stand uses AR500 and AR400 steel components instead of a wood upright or T-post, reducing the number of consumable stand components that need to be replaced after low hits.

What does the die spring do?
The heavy-duty die spring helps absorb impact energy and reduce stress transferred through the stand while keeping the target positioned for follow-up shots.

Can I change target plates later?
Yes. The included Slide-Lock Hanger is compatible with Shoot Steel static-style targets. Additional Slide-Lock Hangers are available separately.

Does this package ship painted?
No. Shoot Steel targets ship unpainted. White target paint provides strong contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. This product is manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 and AR400 steel.

• Normal wear, pitting, cratering and target face degradation are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
