8" Rubber Chain Gong Target Mounting Kit

The 8" Rubber Chain Gong Target Mounting Kit includes the components needed to hang Shoot Steel 3/8" and 1/2" gong targets using self-healing rubber chain. The kit includes two 8" rubber chain lengths, four 5/16" quick links and a 1/2" bolt kit. The shorter chain length keeps the target closer to the stand while still allowing reactive movement on impact. Made in the USA.

The rubber chain allows the gong to swing when hit while absorbing some of the impact energy before it reaches the mounting points. This kit works with Shoot Steel gong targets and compatible gong stands, including the 60"x60" Complete Rigid Conduit Gong Stand. The included 5/16" quick links are not compatible with Shoot Steel T-Post Gong Hangers. For a T-post gong setup, use the 15" Grade 100 Steel Chain Gong Mounting Kit.

Assembly

Use the included 1/2" bolt kit to connect the rubber chain to the gong target, then use the 5/16" quick links to connect the chain to compatible gong stand hardware. Verify the target, rubber chain, quick links and mounting hardware are secure before shooting.

Safety and Usage

Shooting distance, ammunition compatibility and target ratings are determined by the steel target being used with this mounting kit. Always follow the safety and distance requirements for that target. Inspect the rubber chain, quick links and mounting hardware before every session and replace any component that shows excessive cuts, cracking, deformation or other damage. Do not use the included 5/16" quick links with Shoot Steel T-Post Gong Hangers.

Why use rubber chain for a gong target?

Can the rubber chain take a direct hit?
The self-healing rubber is designed to continue supporting the target after direct hits, but bullet splash and repeated impacts will gradually wear the material. Inspect the chain regularly and replace it when needed.

Will these quick links work with T-Post Gong Hangers?
No. The included quick links are 5/16" and are not compatible with Shoot Steel T-Post Gong Hangers. Use the 15" Grade 100 Steel Chain Gong Mounting Kit for T-post setups.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
