Static Steel Target Hangers

The Static Steel Target Hangers give you two mounting options for Shoot Steel static target plates. Choose the T-Post Static Hanger for direct mounting on a standard farm T-post or the 2x4 Static Hanger for use with a compatible stand and 2x4 upright. Both configurations include the hanger, 1/2" carriage bolt, compression spring and lock nut needed to mount a compatible static target.

Both hangers are built from zinc-plated steel and are designed for Shoot Steel 3/8" and 1/2" static steel targets. The compression spring helps absorb impact and reduce stress through the mounting assembly, while the hanger keeps the plate in a fixed static position. Manufactured in the United States.

• 2x4 Static Hanger: Designed for use with a compatible target stand and 2x4 upright.

What's Included

• (1) Selected hanger configuration: T-Post Static Hanger or 2x4 Static Hanger
• (1) 1/2" carriage bolt
• (1) Compression spring

Assembly

• Insert the 1/2" carriage bolt through the target plate and spring
• Tighten the lock nut using a 3/4" wrench or socket
• Mount the 2x4 Static Hanger to the compatible stand setup, or slide the T-Post Static Hanger onto the T-post
• Verify that the hanger and target are fully seated before shooting

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distance and caliber compatibility are determined by the target plate installed on the hanger. Follow the ammunition, caliber and minimum-distance requirements for the specific target being used.

Inspect the hanger, spring, mounting hardware, target and supporting stand or T-post before every session. Replace any component showing cracking, deformation or excessive wear. Confirm that the hanger is fully seated and the target is securely mounted before shooting. Always use quality eye and ear protection.

Which hanger configuration should I choose?
Choose the T-Post Static Hanger if you want to mount a target directly on a standard T-post. Choose the 2x4 Static Hanger if your setup uses a compatible stand with a 2x4 upright.

What targets are compatible?
Both hanger options are designed for compatible Shoot Steel 3/8" and 1/2" static steel targets. They are not intended for chain-hung gong targets.

What hardware is included?
Each selected hanger includes a 1/2" carriage bolt, compression spring and lock nut for mounting the target.

What does the compression spring do?
The spring helps absorb impact and reduce stress through the target mounting assembly. This is still a static target hanger and is not intended to create significant target movement.

Do I need tools?
Initial target mounting requires a 3/4" wrench or socket for the 1/2" hardware. Once assembled, the hanger can be installed onto the appropriate stand or T-post without removing the target hardware.

Is the T-Post Static Hanger compatible with any T-post?
The supplied specification is a standard 1.25 lb/ft T-post. T-post profiles can vary, so confirm proper fit before shooting.

• Welds: covered for 1 year from date of delivery
• Coverage includes weld integrity, materials and workmanship

Commercial and Range Use

• All components: covered against manufacturing and material defects for 90 days from date of purchase
• Coverage includes weld integrity, materials and workmanship
• Normal wear, pitting, cratering and target face degradation are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
