Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Triple Plate Gong Target System

The Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Triple Plate Gong Target System gives you a complete three-target setup built around three 9"x15" steel plates. The package includes three 10" steel chains, three Hybrid Hanger-compatible mounting assemblies and a 2x4 gong stand bracket. Supply standard 2x4 lumber and you have a freestanding multi-target system for handgun and rifle training. The complete Shoot Steel system is manufactured in the United States.

Each target is CNC laser-cut from Swedish-made 1/2" Hardox® AR550 steel for increased resistance to pitting and surface deformation, particularly with higher-velocity rifle impacts. The steel chains integrate with the Hybrid Hanger mounting system for quick target installation and removal. With three separate plates, the system gives you multiple aiming points for transitions, timing drills and longer-range shooting.

Assembly

Build the freestanding frame using the included 2x4 gong stand bracket and customer-supplied 2x4 lumber. The recommended setup uses a 48" to 60" crossmember and four legs cut between 60" and 80", depending on your preferred target height and stand footprint. Install the three targets using the included chains and Hybrid Hanger-compatible mounting assemblies.

Safety and Usage

This 1/2" Hardox® AR550 target system is rated for all centerfire handguns and rifles through .300 Win Mag when used at the proper minimum shooting distance.

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle under 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle over 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 150 yards minimum
• Long-action rifles: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting or cratering

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the targets, chains, hangers and stand before every session. Replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting and replace any component showing deformation, cracking or excessive wear. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
