The 12" AR500 Colt Popper Package is a self-resetting steel rifle target built for high-volume training, competition practice and fast follow-up shots. The 12" target face features a 6" round strike zone and uses a heavy-duty spring to return the target upright automatically after impact. Choose Without Legs for the base setup or Add Legs to include the AR500 leg set that raises the target 6" off the ground. The target, base and optional legs are made from domestic 3/8" AR500 hardened steel. Made in the USA.
The hardened AR500 base is designed to handle the same demanding range environment as the target face rather than relying on a mild-steel base. Pre-drilled mounting holes allow the optional legs to raise the target 6" off the ground, or the same holes can be used as staking points when mounting the base directly to the ground. The target is rated for rifles up to 7.62x39 and .300 Blackout at 100 yards with a maximum rated impact energy of 1,500 ft-lbs. Handgun use is not recommended because the base geometry can redirect bullet splash toward the shooter.

Safety and Usage
Minimum shooting distances and limits:
- Rifles up to 7.62x39 and .300 Blackout: 100 yards minimum
- Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
- Maximum rated impact energy: 1,500 ft-lbs
- Handgun use is not recommended due to the base geometry and potential bullet splash

FAQs
What is the difference between Without Legs and Add Legs?
Both options include the 12" Colt Popper target, AR500 base and self-resetting spring system. The Add Legs option also includes the AR500 leg set that raises the target 6" off the ground. The Without Legs option does not include the legs.
What calibers is the Colt Popper rated for?
The target is rated for rifles up to 7.62x39 and .300 Blackout at a minimum of 100 yards. Maximum rated impact energy is 1,500 ft-lbs. For rifles above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity, increase the minimum distance to 200 yards.
Why is handgun use not recommended?
The base geometry can redirect bullet splash toward the shooter at typical handgun distances. This target is designed for rifle use at the specified minimum distances.
How does the self-resetting target work?
A heavy-duty spring connects the target face to the base. When the plate is hit, it moves rearward and the spring returns it to the upright position automatically, allowing you to continue shooting without manually resetting the target.
Can I use the target without the legs?
Yes. The pre-drilled holes used for the optional leg set can also be used as staking points to secure the base directly to the ground.
What is the target made from?
The target face, base and optional legs are made from domestic 3/8" AR500 hardened steel.
Does the Colt Popper ship painted?
No. The target, base and optional legs ship unpainted. White and bright orange provide strong downrange visibility.
Is this product made in the United States?
