Steel Challenge "Speed Option" Target Package

The Steel Challenge "Speed Option" Target Package gives you the five steel targets needed to build the official SCSA Steel Challenge Speed Option classifier stage. The package includes one 18"x24" rectangle target and four 12" round targets, all CNC laser-cut from domestic 3/8" AR500 steel. Choose Targets Only or Add Static Hangers and Heavy Duty Stands depending on how complete you want your stage setup. Manufactured in the United States.

Speed Option uses four matching 12" round targets and one large rectangle stop plate, creating a stage built around fast transitions and repeatable pacing. The complete stand option adds five Static Target Hangers and five Heavy Duty Static Stands designed for 2x4 uprights. Customer-supplied 2x4 lumber lets you set the round and rectangle targets to the required stage heights.

Setup

When using the stand package, assemble the Heavy Duty Static Stands, add customer-supplied 2x4 uprights and mount each plate using the included Static Target Hanger. The supplied stage-height specifications are 5' to the top of each round target and 5'6" to the top of the rectangle target, measured as viewed from the shooting box.

Safety and Usage

This package uses 3/8" AR500 steel targets rated for centerfire handguns and short-action rifles through .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor when used at the proper minimum shooting distance.

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the plates, hangers, stands and mounting hardware before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition. Follow all applicable SCSA range and stage safety rules when practicing Steel Challenge.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
