The protector is made up of three pieces of 3/8" AR500 CNC laser-cut steel that handle direct hits from pistols and rifles without flinching. Grade 5 carriage bolts and two lock nuts secure the assembly to the post. Tighten with a 3/4" wrench and you are ready to shoot. No complicated mounting, no special tools, no components that need frequent replacement. Manufactured in the United States.

Safety and Usage
Minimum shooting distances are determined by the target plate used in your setup. The T-Post Protector panels are rated for direct hits from pistols and rifles in accordance with standard ShootSteel distance guidelines. Always use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the protector panels and hardware before every session. Replace any panel that shows cratering or severe pitting.
FAQs
What does the T-Post Protector actually protect against?
Low misses that would otherwise hit the T-post directly. An unprotected T-post takes only a few direct rifle hits before it bends, weakens or fails, requiring replacement and taking your target setup out of service. The 3/8" AR500 panels absorb those hits instead, leaving the post intact and your setup running. On busy ranges and during high-volume training sessions, the protector pays for itself quickly in posts that do not need to be replaced.
Why three panels instead of one solid piece?
The three-piece design allows the protector to wrap around the T-post profile and clamp securely to posts that vary slightly in shape and thickness by brand. A single flat panel cannot conform to post geometry the same way. The three-panel assembly also makes the unit easier to ship and store flat between range trips.
What calibers can the protector handle?
The 3/8" AR500 panels are rated for direct hits from centerfire pistols at 10 yards minimum and centerfire rifles up to .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at 100 yards minimum. Follow standard ShootSteel minimum distance guidelines for your cartridge.
Does this fit any T-post?
The protector is designed for standard steel fence T-posts. Post profiles can vary slightly by brand, so confirm fit before purchasing additional posts. T-post not included.
How difficult is installation?
Straightforward. Position the three panels around the face of the T-post, thread the Grade 5 carriage bolts through the assembly and tighten the lock nuts with a 3/4" wrench. The whole process takes under two minutes and no special tools are required beyond a single wrench.
Is this product made in the United States?
