Two targets. Two hangers. One system that drops onto any standard steel T-post in seconds and handles whatever you put downrange. The 2-Pack 1/2" AR500 Steel Target and T-Post Hanger System pairs two silhouettes, your choice of 12" x 20" (29 lbs.) or 9" x 15" (16 lbs.), with two of our patented zinc-plated T-post hangers so you can stage multiple positions without running back to reset or swap hardware.
The 1/2" thickness gives you meaningful additional durability over thinner plates for pistol fundamentals, carbine training and short-action rifle work up to .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor. Every plate is CNC laser-cut to minimize the heat-affected zone, preserve edge hardness and produce a flat strike face that keeps splatter predictable and the ring on impact clean. The zinc-plated hanger resists corrosion for year-round outdoor use and drops onto a standard T-post without tools. Keep extras on hand and you can swap target sizes in seconds. Manufactured in the United States.
What's Included
- (2) 12" x 20" (29 lb.) or (2) 9" x 15" (16 lb.) silhouette targets, 1/2" AR500, CNC laser-cut
- (2) T-Post Hangers, patented design, zinc-plated
- Not included: T-post, paint
Safety and Usage
Minimum shooting distances:
- Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
- Centerfire rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum; increase distance if pitting is observed
- Centerfire rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum; increase distance if pitting is observed
- Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Maintain a fresh coat of paint and replace damaged posts immediately.
Always use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect targets before every session. Replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health.
FAQs
What is the difference between the 12" x 20" and 9" x 15" option?
Both plates are 1/2" AR500 and use the same patented hanger. The 12" x 20" at 29 lbs. gives you a larger strike zone and more mass, which is better suited for long-range rifle work and high-volume training where target visibility at distance matters. The 9" x 15" at 16 lbs. is more portable and easier to carry solo, making it the better choice for frequent range trips and setups where weight is a consideration.
Why 1/2" AR500 instead of 3/8"?
The extra thickness adds durability for sustained rifle use and extends plate life under high round counts. For shooters running short-action rifle cartridges regularly, 1/2" is the right choice. For purely pistol-focused training, 3/8" AR500 is sufficient. For high-velocity rounds above 3,000 fps or long-action magnums, step up to our 1/2" AR550 system for maximum longevity.
Will this hanger fit my existing T-posts?
In most cases, yes. The patented hanger is designed for standard steel T-posts available at farm, ranch and hardware stores. Because post profiles vary slightly by brand, bring the hanger to the store to confirm fit before purchasing posts. T-post not included.
What calibers is this system rated for?
Centerfire handguns at 10 yards minimum and short-action rifles up to .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at 100 yards minimum. For muzzle velocities above 3,000 fps, increase distance to 200 yards minimum.
Is 1/2" AR500 enough for faster rifle rounds?
For rounds above 3,000 fps or long-action magnums, step up to our 1/2" AR550 system. The harder AR550 steel resists pitting from high-velocity rounds and extends service life significantly at those energy levels.
How is laser-cutting better than plasma cutting?
CNC laser-cutting controls the heat-affected zone at the cut edge, preserving hardness all the way to the perimeter of the plate. Plasma cutting introduces more heat, softening the edge and reducing plate life under repeated impact. The result is a cleaner cut, a truer strike face and longer-lasting targets.
Does it ship painted?
No. The targets ship as bare steel so you can apply your preferred color. White and bright orange provide the best downrange visibility.
Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. Our targets are manufactured in the United States using premium AR500 steel.
Do you warranty your products?
Yes. We stand behind our products.
