Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Steel Silhouette Target

The Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Steel Silhouette Target is a standalone steel target available in two sizes: 9"x15" at 16 lb or 12"x20" at 28 lb. Each silhouette is CNC laser-cut from Swedish-made 1/2" Hardox® AR550 steel for shooters who want increased resistance to pitting from repeated handgun and rifle use. The finished Shoot Steel target is manufactured in the United States.

Hardox® AR550 is harder than AR500 and provides increased resistance to pitting and surface deformation, particularly with higher-velocity rifle impacts such as .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO. Choose the compact 9"x15" silhouette for a smaller aiming area and easier transport, or the 12"x20" silhouette for a larger strike face and increased visibility at distance. Both sizes are rated for all centerfire handguns and rifles through .300 Win Mag when used at the proper minimum shooting distance.

Safety and Usage

This 1/2" Hardox® AR550 silhouette target is rated for all centerfire handguns and rifles through .300 Win Mag when used at the proper minimum shooting distance.

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle under 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle over 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 150 yards minimum
• Long-action rifles: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting or cratering

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the plate and mounting system before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Replace damaged mounting components before use. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
