The 1/2" AR500 Gong Bundle includes a 4", 6", 8", 10", 12" and 12"x20" silhouette, giving you a complete target inventory in a single order. Whether you are zeroing a new rifle, running pistol transition drills or reaching out to distance with a hard-hitting magnum cartridge, there is a plate in this bundle built for the job.

Every target is CNC laser-cut from 1/2" AR500 steel to minimize the heat-affected zone and preserve hardness all the way to the edge of each plate. The 1/2" thickness is what makes this bundle viable for the full spectrum of use cases it covers. At one end, the 4" gong is a precision challenge at any distance. At the other, the 12"x20" silhouette and 12" round handle sustained magnum rifle fire that thinner plates cannot absorb without cratering. All six are rated for all handgun cartridges and rifle cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum. Targets ship unpainted without chain or mounting hardware. Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Centerfire rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum; increase distance if pitting is observed
• Centerfire rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum; increase distance if pitting is observed
• Maximum rated cartridge: .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum
• Standard lead-core, copper-jacketed ammunition only

Always use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect all gongs and mounting hardware before every session. Replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health.

FAQs

Why buy a bundle instead of individual gongs?
A single gong is a single drill. Six gongs across six sizes is a complete range setup that lets you run pistol fundamentals on the larger plates, precision rifle drills on the smaller ones and everything in between without ordering multiple times or waiting on separate shipments. This bundle is the most efficient way to stock a home range or add a full gong array to an existing setup.

What calibers are these targets rated for?
All centerfire handgun cartridges at 10 yards minimum and centerfire rifles up to .338 Lapua Magnum at 200 yards minimum using standard lead-core, copper-jacketed ammunition. For rifle cartridges at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity, 100 yards is the minimum. Increase distance if pitting is observed at any range.

Why 1/2" AR500 instead of 3/8"?
The 1/2" thickness is what allows this bundle to cover the full range from pistol to magnum rifle use in a single set of targets. A 3/8" plate handles pistol and short-action rifle cartridges well but will pit and crater under the sustained impact energy of the harder-hitting rifle rounds this bundle is designed for. The extra thickness absorbs that energy without degrading, keeping all six plates in service through high round counts at distance.

How do I use the 12"x20" silhouette alongside the round gongs?
The silhouette is the most versatile plate in the bundle. Use it for pistol drills and carbine training where a humanoid target face is more relevant than a round plate, or hang it at distance as a larger aiming reference when zeroing or confirming hits at extended ranges. It pairs naturally with the round gongs to build varied multi-target setups that demand transitions and accurate shot placement.

Do these targets include chain and mounting hardware?
No. All six gongs ship without chain, quick links or mounting hardware. Add the 12" rubber chain kit at checkout to complete your hanging setup.

Does it ship painted?
No. All targets ship as bare steel so you can apply your preferred color. White and bright orange provide the best downrange visibility across all six sizes.

• Normal wear, pitting, cratering and target face degradation from high-volume or high-impact use are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with ShootSteel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Targets mounted to ShootSteel specifications
