Each plate is CNC laser-cut from domestic AR500 steel to maintain uniform hardness across the entire strike surface, including the edges. This reduces heat-affected soft zones found in cheaper plasma-cut targets, extending plate life and improving predictable splatter behavior. Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time pitting is observed on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Wear proper eye and ear protection. Inspect all targets, hangers, and posts before each session and replace any component showing wear, deformation, or cratering. No steel-core, armor-piercing, or tracer ammunition.

FAQs

What is the difference between the 5" and 8" bundles?
The 5" bundle is designed for precision shooting and tighter accuracy drills, while the 8" bundle offers a larger strike zone for faster target acquisition and general training use. Both use the same AR500 steel and T-post hanger system.

How does the T-post hanger system work?
The patented hanger bolts to the target plate and drops directly over a standard steel T-post. No tools are needed at the post itself. Targets can be removed and repositioned in seconds while leaving posts in place.

Will these fit my existing T-posts?
Yes. The hangers are designed for standard steel T-posts commonly available at farm and hardware stores. Slight brand variations exist, so test-fit is recommended before large installations.

What calibers are these rated for?
Both bundles are rated for all pistol calibers at 10 yards minimum and rifle calibers up to .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at 100 yards minimum. Increase distance for higher velocity loads above 3,000 fps.

Does this system ship painted?
No. All targets ship as bare steel so you can apply your preferred coating. White and bright orange provide the best visibility at distance.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. All targets and hangers are manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

Commercial and Range Use

• All components: covered against manufacturing and material defects for 90 days from purchase
• Normal wear, pitting, and surface degradation from high-volume use are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, products must be used according to ShootSteel safety guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing, or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances always observed
• Targets properly mounted to ShootSteel specifications
