The 3/4" AR500 50 BMG Steel Target is built for big-bore rifle shooting at extended distances. Choose from a 6" gong, 12" gong, 12"x20" silhouette or 18"x30" silhouette, then select the target only or add the BMG Mounting Kit. Each target is CNC laser-cut from domestic 3/4" AR500 steel and is rated for 50 BMG, .416 Barrett and .408 CheyTac at the specified minimum distances. Made in the USA.
The target accepts 5/8" mounting hardware, with the mounting points positioned behind the target face to help keep hardware out of the direct splash path. The optional BMG Mounting Kit uses reinforced rubber chain to absorb impact energy and reduce stress on mounting components while allowing the target to swing. Safety and Usage
Minimum shooting distances by cartridge:
- 50 BMG ball and brass solids: 300 yards minimum
- 50 BMG AP and API: Not rated
- .416 Barrett and .408 CheyTac lead-core: 300 yards minimum
- .416 Barrett and .408 CheyTac brass solids: 400 yards minimum
- Increase distance based on your specific load and barrel length
Use only lead-core, copper-jacketed or brass solid ammunition. Do not use armor-piercing, API or steel-core ammunition. Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection and ensure a safe backstop is in place. Inspect the target and mounting components before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface condition.

What calibers is this target rated for?
The 3/4" AR500 target is rated for 50 BMG ball and brass solids at 300 yards minimum, .416 Barrett and .408 CheyTac lead-core ammunition at 300 yards minimum, and .416 Barrett and .408 CheyTac brass solids at 400 yards minimum. 50 BMG AP and API ammunition is not rated.
Do I need the BMG Mounting Kit?
No. You can select the target only if you already have a compatible big-bore hanging system. Select the BMG Mounting Kit if you need the reinforced rubber chain and mounting hardware for the target.
Why use rubber chain for 50 BMG?
The reinforced rubber chain absorbs a portion of the energy transferred through the target after impact, reducing stress on the mounting hardware while allowing the plate to swing. Standard steel chain is not recommended for 50 BMG applications.
What comes with the BMG Mounting Kit?
The add-on kit includes two BMG rubber chains, two 5/8" bolts, two 5/8" Nylock nuts, two 5/8" washers, two 1/2" quick links and two 3/8" quick links.
Can I shoot smaller calibers on this target?
Yes. The target can also be used with smaller calibers at their appropriate recommended shooting distances.
Does this target ship painted?
No. Shoot Steel targets ship unpainted. White target paint provides strong contrast downrange for tracking impacts.
Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. This product is manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:
- No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
- Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
- Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
