AR500 Pepper Popper Target | 22" Mini USPSA Popper

The AR500 Pepper Popper Target | 22" Mini USPSA Popper is a compact fall-down steel target for competition stages, qualification courses and range drills. The 22" silhouette is CNC laser-cut from domestic 3/8" AR500 steel and mounts to a 9.25" x 24" zinc-plated steel base. A solid hit drops the target flat for unmistakable visual and audible confirmation. All mounting hardware is included, and the system ships ready to assemble. Made in the USA.

The base includes four 1/2" stake holes for securing the target on soft or uneven ground. Its zinc-plated finish helps resist corrosion during outdoor use, while the AR500 target plate ships unpainted for easy repainting between sessions. The target is rated for centerfire handguns and short-action rifles through .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at the proper minimum shooting distances. Assembly

Attach the 22" target to the zinc-plated base using the included mounting hardware. The base has four 1/2" stake holes for securing the system to the ground when additional stability is needed. Verify the target, base and mounting hardware are secure before shooting.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Maximum rated cartridges: .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the target plate, base and mounting hardware before every session and replace any component that shows cratering, severe pitting or structural damage. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

FAQs

How does the 22" Mini Pepper Popper reset?
This is a manual fall-down target. A solid hit drops the popper flat to the ground. To reset it, walk downrange and return the target to the upright position. There is no spring-loaded automatic reset mechanism.

How is this different from the Static Pepper Popper?
The Mini Pepper Popper falls flat when hit and requires a manual reset. The Static Pepper Popper uses a spring-loaded design that stays upright after impact.

Why choose the 22" Mini Pepper Popper?
The smaller 22" profile works well for tighter target arrays and drills where you want a reduced target presentation. It can also be combined with gongs and static plates to build more varied shooting stages.

What calibers is this target rated for?

How do I stabilize the base?
The 9.25" x 24" base includes four 1/2" stake holes. Stakes can be used to secure the base on soft or uneven ground and help prevent movement during use.

No. Shoot Steel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange provide strong contrast downrange for tracking hits.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
