Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Speed Rack

The Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Speed Rack is a five-plate steel target system built for handgun drills, target transitions and rifle shooting at the proper distances. It includes five 8" round targets CNC laser-cut from Swedish-made 1/2" Hardox® AR550 steel, five speed rack hangers and the mounting hardware needed to build the rack around a standard 2x4 crossmember. Choose None - Kit Only if you already have a compatible leg setup, or Add Legs to include the 40" EMT conduit legs. The complete Shoot Steel product is manufactured in the United States.

Each target hangs from its own speed rack hanger along the 2x4 crossmember, giving you five separate plates for transitions, timed strings and high-volume practice. Hardox® AR550 offers increased hardness and resistance to pitting compared with AR500, particularly when shooting higher-velocity rifle cartridges. With the Add Legs option, the 40" EMT conduit legs position the targets approximately 24" off the ground.

Assembly

Install the 2x4 crossmember across the stand, slide the five speed rack hangers onto the crossmember and mount the targets using the included hardware. If you select the Add Legs configuration, install the included 40" EMT conduit legs into the stand brackets. The target positions can be adjusted along the crossmember to change spacing for different drills.

Safety and Usage

This 1/2" Hardox® AR550 Speed Rack is rated for centerfire handguns and rifles through .300 Win Mag when used at the proper minimum distance.

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 150 yards minimum
• Long-action rifles: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the targets, hangers, stand and mounting hardware before every session. Replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting and replace any component showing damage or excessive wear. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

What comes with the Hardox® AR550 Speed Rack?
Every configuration includes five 8" 1/2" Hardox® AR550 targets, five speed rack hangers and target mounting hardware. A standard 2x4 crossmember is required and not included.

What is the difference between Kit Only and Add Legs?
The None - Kit Only option does not include the 40" EMT conduit legs. Select Add Legs if you want the 40" EMT conduit leg set included with your rack.

What calibers is this Speed Rack rated for?
The system is rated for all centerfire handguns and rifles through .300 Win Mag when used at the proper minimum distance. Higher-velocity and long-action rifle cartridges require increased shooting distance.

Can I change the spacing between targets?
Yes. The speed rack hangers slide along the 2x4 crossmember, allowing you to reposition the plates for different target spacing and drill configurations.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
