2" EMT Gong Stand Kit

The 2" EMT Gong Stand Kit gives you the bracket hardware to build a heavy-duty gong stand capable of supporting even the largest and heaviest ShootSteel targets. Buying the conduit locally eliminates shipping costs on heavy metal tube and lets you cut the legs and crossmember to any length you need for your terrain, target height and shooting position. The stand uses 2" EMT conduit for the crossmember and 1.25" EMT for the legs, both available at any hardware or electrical supply store. This kit will not work with rigid conduit, standard plumbing pipe or any other conduit size. Assembly requires cutting tube to length, measuring 1.5" from each end, drilling a 5/16" hole and deburring all cut ends. Detailed instructions are included. Assembly Requirements

• Cut conduit to desired leg and crossmember lengths
• Measure 1.5" from each tube end and mark drill point
• Drill one 5/16" hole per tube end
• Deburr all cut ends before assembly

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances are determined by the target plate used with this stand. Always inspect all bracket hardware and conduit before every session. Replace any component that shows deformation, cracking or wear. Follow standard ShootSteel minimum distance guidelines for your cartridge and target combination. Always use quality eye and ear protection.

FAQs

Why does this kit not include the conduit?
Shipping heavy metal conduit is expensive. Buying it locally at a hardware or electrical supply store eliminates that cost and lets you cut the legs and crossmember to exactly the lengths you need. The bracket hardware is the precision component, which is what the kit provides.

Why 2" EMT for the crossmember and 1.25" for the legs?
The larger 2" crossmember provides the diameter and wall strength needed to support the weight and impact energy of heavy gong targets across the full span between the two legs. The 1.25" legs handle the vertical structural load efficiently at lighter weight. Using 2" for both would make the stand unnecessarily heavy and expensive to build.

Can I adjust the stand height and width?
Yes. Cutting the conduit to your preferred lengths is part of the assembly process. Choose whatever leg height and crossmember width fits your range setup, target size and terrain. This is the main advantage of the kit format over a fixed-dimension complete stand.

What if I am not comfortable cutting and drilling conduit?

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Products mounted to ShootSteel specifications
