3/8" AR500 16" Gong Target Package

The 3/8" AR500 16" Gong Target Package gives you the core components needed to build a complete steel gong target setup, with only standard 2x4 lumber required to finish the stand. The package includes a 16" round gong, 15" Grade 100 Steel Chain Gong Mounting Kit, Hybrid Hanger Pair and 2x4 Gong Stand Brackets. The target is CNC laser-cut from domestic 3/8" AR500 steel and the system is made in the USA.

The 16" round strike face provides a large target for pistol and short-action rifle training. The chain locks into the hybrid hangers without tools, making setup and target changes straightforward. Use a 48-60" 2x4 crossmember and four 60-80" 2x4 legs to complete the stand. Assembly

Cut a standard 2x4 crossmember to 48-60" and four 2x4 legs to 60-80" each. Assemble the stand using the included 2x4 Gong Stand Brackets, position the hybrid hangers along the crossmember and connect the included 15" steel chain. The chain locks into the hybrid hangers without tools.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity, including .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the target, chain, hangers, stand brackets and lumber before every session. Replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

No. Shoot Steel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange provide strong contrast downrange for tracking hits.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
