3/8" AR500 Static Silhouette Target

The 3/8" AR500 Static Silhouette Target is a versatile steel shooting target available in three sizes: 9"x15", 12"x20" and 18"x30". Each plate is CNC laser-cut from domestic 3/8" AR500 steel and includes a 1/2" carriage bolt mounting hole. Choose the size that fits your shooting distance, training setup and desired strike area. Target only. Hanger, stand, mounting hardware and paint are not included. Made in the USA.

The silhouette works with several Shoot Steel mounting systems, including the Static Target Hanger for vertical 2x4 setups, the Speed Rack Hanger for horizontal 2x4 setups, the Patented T-Post Static Hanger for T-post use and the Upright, All-Steel Target Stand for an all-steel setup. To help protect uprights from low hits, use the 20" T-Post Protector or 2x4 Protector Plate. All three 3/8" AR500 targets are rated for centerfire handguns and short-action rifles through .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at the proper minimum shooting distances.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Maximum rated cartridges: .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the plate, hanger, stand and mounting hardware before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

What size should I choose?
The 9"x15" provides the smallest strike area for more demanding accuracy work. The 12"x20" offers a versatile silhouette size for general pistol and rifle training, while the 18"x30" provides the largest strike area for longer distances and faster target transitions.

What mounting hardware does the target use?
Each plate includes a 1/2" carriage bolt mounting hole. Use at least Grade 5 hardware. Mounting hardware is not included.

What mounting systems work with this target?
Compatible options include the Static Target Hanger, Speed Rack Hanger, Patented T-Post Static Hanger and Upright, All-Steel Target Stand.

Does this target ship painted?
No. Shoot Steel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange provide strong contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Yes. This product is manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

• Normal wear, pitting, cratering and target face degradation are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
