Keep your training dynamic with reliable, reactive movement. The Cardboard Swinger is a gravity-powered, movement-reactive target base built for USPSA, 3-Gun, and tactical training. Featuring a 1/4″ AR400 steel front plate, it delivers thousands of swings with consistent motion while simulating real-world target movement, helping shooters refine timing, transitions, and accuracy under dynamic conditions.

The 18″ wide arm accepts standard 1″ x 2″ furring strips (not included) for USPSA, IDPA, or ShootSteel cardboard targets. A central steel plate shields the sealed bearings inside, and three ballast points let you adjust swing speed to match any drill or scenario.

Activate the swinger with a manual rope pull or by connecting another reactive target, such as a Pepper Popper (optional add-on), with cord or string. When the connected target is knocked over, it triggers the swinger for unpredictable, dynamic motion.

FAQs

What targets does the Cardboard Swinger support, and are they included?
The base is designed for USPSA, IDPA, and ShootSteel cardboard targets mounted on standard 1″ x 2″ furring strips. Targets and furring strips are not included and are sold separately.

How do I activate the swinger?
It can be activated manually with a rope pull or reactively by pairing it with another target, such as a pepper popper (optional add-on), to knock it loose and start movement.

Can I adjust how fast it swings?
Yes. Three ballast mounting points allow you to fine-tune the swing speed for different drills or skill levels.

Is this product made in the United States?

Personal/Recreational Use

• Products used for personal or recreational shooting are covered against manufacturing or material defects from the date of delivery as follows: wear items, including target plates, for 90 days; welds for 1 year. This warranty covers weld integrity, materials and workmanship.

Commercial/Range Use

• Products used in a commercial range or training environment are covered against manufacturing or material defects for a period of 90 days from the date of purchase. This warranty covers weld integrity, materials and workmanship.
• Due to the high-volume and high-impact nature of range use, normal wear, pitting, cratering, or target face degradation are not covered under this warranty.

To qualify for coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with ShootSteel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No use of steel-core, armor-piercing, or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed
• Target mounted to ShootSteel specifications

ShootSteel reserves the right to request photos or inspection of any claimed item prior to approval.
