Description
Maximize the efficiency of your long-range sessions with the Long Range Starter Package. This bundle integrates the two requirements of effective precision rifle training, high-visibility confirmation and precision accuracy, into a single, heavy-duty system.
This isn’t just a couple of targets; it is a complete infrastructure kit. Anchored by our rugged 2×4 Stand Brackets and Hybrid Hangers, this package uses self-healing Rubber Hangers to suspend two distinct targets: a massive 22″ x 30″ XL Gong for long-distance confirmation and a precision 8″ Gong for tightening your groups. Whether you are zeroing your rifle or testing your limits with a .338 Lapua, this package provides every single piece of steel and hardware you need. No mismatched chains, no hardware store runs. Just a unified, professional-grade setup ready for magnum calibers.
The Long Range Starter Package Breakdown
1. XL Gong Target – ½″ AR500 Steel (22″ x 30″): The centerpiece of your range. Built for shooters who demand serious durability for long-distance and high-caliber rifle training.
- Magnum Rated: Made from ½″ AR500 steel, this target is rated for rifles up to .338 Lapua Magnum
- Long-Range Visibility: At 22″ x 30″, this massive plate delivers instant visual feedback and a loud ring, making it perfect for spotting impacts at extended distances.
- Laser Precision: Precision CNC laser-cutting reduces the heat-affected zone, ensuring smooth edges and longer life compared to cheaper plasma-cut targets.
2. 8″ Round Gong – ½″ AR500 Steel: Once you are dialed in with the big target, switch to the 8″ gong to tighten your groups.
- Precision Trainer: Ideal for shooters who demand serious durability while refining their accuracy.
- Heavy Duty: Just like the XL, this 8″ gong is cut from ½” AR500 and rated for cartridges up to .338 Lapua Magnum at distance.
- Consistent Hardness: CNC laser-cutting eliminates excessive heat zones, ensuring exceptional longevity even under frequent, high-energy impacts.
3. 2×4 Gong Stand Brackets: Create a durable and affordable shooting target stand in minutes.
- Spall Resistant: CNC laser-cut from ¼ ” steel, these brackets are engineered to handle heavy targets and withstand bullet spall.
- Rock Solid: Designed to build a sturdy A-frame style gong stand using standard 2×4 studs found at any hardware store.
- High Capacity: Rated to support targets up to 80 lbs. and 4,500 ft-lbs. of impact energy.
4. Hybrid Gong Target Hangers: Engineered for shooters who value simplicity, durability, and flexibility.
- Tool-Free Setup: Just slide the hangers over a horizontal 2×4 cross member and you are ready to hang targets. No complicated tools required.
- Versatile: Compatible with standard 2×4 builds but also supports hybrid configurations using 1″ EMT conduit legs for increased durability.
- Heavy Duty: CNC laser-cut from ¼ ” steel for long-term performance.
5. 8″ Rubber Chain Mounting Kit: The modern solution for hanging steel.
- Self-Healing: Unlike steel chains that can shatter if hit, bullets pass through the rubber, extending the life of your hanging hardware significantly.
- Complete Kit: Includes four Quick Links, a ½” Bolt Kit, and two 8″ Rubber Chains.
- Universal Fit: Compatible with all of our gong-style targets.
Distance and Use Guidelines:
- Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum.
- Centerfire rifles up to .338 Lapua 200 yards minimum; increase distance if you observe pitting.
- Always shoot perpendicular, maintain a fresh coat of paint and replace damaged posts.

FAQs
Why ½” Steel instead of ⅜”? For long-range and magnum use, mass matters. ½” AR500 is thicker and heavier, allowing it to absorb the energy of large calibers like .338 Lapua without warping or pitting.
Do I need special lumber? No. The brackets are designed to fit standard 2×4 studs available at any local hardware store.
Why use Rubber Chains? Rubber chains are “self-healing.” Unlike steel chains that can shatter if hit, bullets pass through the rubber, extending the life of your hanging hardware significantly.
How is laser-cutting better?
CNC laser-cutting tightly controls the heat-affected zone, preserves hardness at the edge and yields a cleaner perimeter than plasma cutting. This means longer plate life and safer splatter.
Does it ship painted?
No. We ship unpainted so you can apply your preferred color. White or bright orange offer the best contrast downrange.
Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. Our targets are manufactured in the United States using premium US AR500 steel or Swedish AR550 steel.
Do you warranty your products?
Yes. We stand behind our products.
