The Hardox® 1/2" AR550 Static Target Package delivers a durable, high-performance steel target setup designed for serious shooters. This bundle includes (1) 12"x20" silhouette target and (3) 5" round static targets, giving you a balanced mix for both precision and practical shooting drills.

Manufactured from premium Swedish Hardox® AR550 steel, these targets are engineered for maximum durability under repeated impact. AR550 is harder than AR500, which helps resist pitting and cratering—especially when shooting high-velocity rounds like .223/5.56 NATO. The result is a longer-lasting target surface and more consistent, safer bullet splatter patterns.

Each target is precision CNC laser-cut to minimize the heat-affected zone and preserve hardness across the entire plate, including the edges. This ensures superior strength and longevity compared to cheaper plasma-cut alternatives that can soften at the cut edge and wear out faster.

All targets include mounting holes designed to accept 1/2" hardware. For best performance, we recommend using Grade 5 or higher bolts. The static targets are designed to mount easily to a steel post, 2x4, or other structure using standard 1/2" carriage bolts.

This 1/2" AR550 package is rated for all centerfire handgun calibers and rifle calibers up to .300 Win Mag. It’s an ideal setup for clubs, instructors, and serious shooters who need reliable steel targets for high-volume use.

Distance and Use Guidelines:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum.
• Rifle under 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum.
• Rifle over 2,800 fps muzzle velocity: 150 yards minimum.
• Long-action rifles: 200 yards minimum.
• Always shoot perpendicular to the target face.
• Do not use steel-core, armor-piercing, or tracer ammunition.

Safety and Usage

Always wear proper eye and ear protection. Inspect targets before each use. Replace any plate that shows cratering, excessive pitting, or structural damage. Repaint targets regularly to track impacts and monitor surface condition.

No. Targets ship as bare steel so you can apply your preferred paint for visibility. High-contrast colors like white or orange work best.

• Normal wear, pitting, cratering, and surface degradation from high-volume use are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used according to ShootSteel safety guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing, or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances must always be observed
• Targets must be properly mounted and maintained
