The Rigid Conduit Single Gong Stand Kit gives you everything you need to build a sturdy, customizable gong stand except the conduit itself. Buying the conduit locally eliminates shipping costs on heavy metal tube and lets you cut the legs and crossmember to any length you need for your specific terrain, target height and shooting position. If you shoot on hilly ground or need a non-standard stand geometry, this kit lets you dial it in. Visit the ShootSteel YouTube channel to see our stands and targets in action.
The kit is designed specifically for 1" rigid conduit, which is available at hardware and electrical supply stores. Rigid conduit has the same inside diameter as EMT but significantly thicker walls, which is what gives it the load capacity to handle heavier targets and higher-energy cartridges. This kit will not work with EMT or standard plumbing pipe. Assembly requires cutting tube to length, measuring 1.5" from each end, drilling a 5/16" hole and deburring the ends. Detailed instructions are included. If you are not comfortable performing those operations, see our complete 60"x60" Rigid Conduit Gong Stand which ships fully ready to assemble. For hanging hardware, pair with the Steel Chain Mounting Kit or the Rubber Chain Mounting Kit. Ships unpainted. Conduit not included. Manufactured in the United States.

Safety and Usage
Minimum shooting distances are determined by the target plate used with this stand. Maximum supported target weight is 75 lbs. Maximum rated cartridge is .338 Lapua Magnum. Do not exceed either rating. Always inspect all bracket hardware and conduit before every session. Replace any component that shows deformation, cracking or wear. Follow standard ShootSteel minimum distance guidelines for your cartridge and target combination. Always use quality eye and ear protection.
FAQs
Why does this kit not include the conduit?
Shipping rigid conduit is expensive due to its weight and length. Buying it locally at a hardware or electrical supply store eliminates that shipping cost entirely and lets you choose the exact tube lengths you need without being locked into a fixed stand dimension. The bracket hardware is the only component that requires precision manufacturing, so that is what the kit provides.
Why rigid conduit instead of EMT?
Both have the same inside diameter, but rigid conduit has significantly thicker walls. That wall thickness is what gives it the structural load capacity to support heavier targets and absorb the vibration energy of larger rifle cartridges without flexing or failing at the connection points. EMT is fine for lighter gong setups, but for targets approaching the 75 lb. maximum and cartridges up to .338 Lapua, rigid conduit is the right choice. This kit is designed specifically for rigid conduit and will not work with EMT or plumbing pipe.
Can I customize the stand height and width?
Yes. Cutting the conduit to your preferred leg and crossmember lengths is part of the assembly process. This lets you set the stand height for your target size and shooting position, and adjust the width for stability on uneven or hilly terrain. Detailed instructions are included to guide you through the process.
What if I am not comfortable cutting and drilling conduit?
See our complete 60"x60" Rigid Conduit Gong Stand, which ships with pre-cut conduit and requires only final assembly.
What hanging hardware do I need?
Chain and quick links are not included with this kit. Compatible options are the Steel Chain Mounting Kit and the Rubber Chain Mounting Kit.
