Rimfire KYL Rack - 3 Target Configurations

The Rimfire Know Your Limits Rack is the most portable, versatile and skill-testing target system in the ShootSteel lineup. Three hanging targets in progressively smaller sizes dare you to push your precision further with every session. Hit them all in sequence without a miss and you know exactly where your limits are. Miss one and you start over. That is the KYL format, and there is no more honest measure of rimfire accuracy on the market.

The default configuration includes 1", 2" and 3" targets, taking you from approachable to genuinely challenging on the same rack. Additional configurations including 2"/3"/4" and 1"/3"/5" are available from the dropdown menu above. Every target, hanger and stand bracket is CNC laser-cut from 1/4" AR400 steel for consistent dimensions and long service life. The system is fully modular, meaning any individual component can be replaced if damaged without replacing the entire rack. No chain, no heavy bolts, no complicated setup. Just hang the targets, paint them and shoot.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances by cartridge:

• .22 S, L and LR: 10 yards minimum
• .17 HM2: 50 yards minimum
• .17 HMR: 100 yards minimum
• .22 Magnum: 125 yards minimum
• .17 WSM: Not rated

Always use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect all targets, hangers and the stand before every session. Replace any component that shows cratering, severe pitting or structural damage. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health.

What configurations are available?
Three configurations are available from the dropdown menu: 1"/2"/3" (default), 2"/3"/4" and 1"/3"/5". The default 1"/2"/3" configuration is the most versatile, offering an accessible entry point with the 3" target while keeping the 1" target as a genuine challenge at distance. The larger configurations suit shooters who want more forgiving practice targets, while the 1"/3"/5" spread maximizes the difficulty range in a single rack.

What calibers is this rack rated for?
.22 S, L and LR at 10 yards minimum, .17 HM2 at 50 yards minimum, .17 HMR at 100 yards minimum and .22 Magnum at 125 yards minimum. The .17 WSM is not rated for this target. Always observe the minimum distances listed above and increase distance if pitting is observed.

Why is the system fully modular?
On a target this size, individual plates and hangers will take direct hits over thousands of rounds. Rather than requiring you to replace the entire rack when one component wears out, every part of this system is individually replaceable. Targets, hangers and stand brackets are all standard components that can be ordered separately, keeping your long-term cost of ownership low.

How difficult is assembly and transport?
The rack is designed to be the most portable target system in the ShootSteel lineup. There is no chain, no heavy bolting and no tools required for target changes. The modular design breaks down quickly for transport and sets up just as fast at the range or in the backyard.

Does it ship painted?
No. The targets ship as bare steel so you can apply your preferred color. White and bright orange provide the best visibility on small targets at distance.

• Normal wear, pitting, cratering and target face degradation from high-volume or high-impact use are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with ShootSteel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Targets mounted to ShootSteel specifications
