The 1/2" AR500 Rifle Spinner Target is built for precision rifle shooters who want immediate feedback at distance. The 6" strike face sits on a free-spinning mount that rewards accurate hits with a satisfying spin and punishes misses with silence, making it one of the most honest skill-testing targets you can set up at any range. Rated to .300 Winchester Magnum at 200 yards and .308 Win at 100 yards, this target performs at distances where most reactive targets simply do not exist.

The stand uses a 22" rigid cross member and 30" legs, keeping the entire system compact and portable without sacrificing stability. Two included spacers center the target on the shaft while allowing it to spin freely on impact. Every component needed for complete assembly ships in the box with detailed instructions. Not sure which thickness is right for your cartridge? Consult our Cartridge Guide.

FAQs

What makes a spinner target more effective than a static plate at long range?
A static plate tells you whether you hit it. A spinner tells you whether you hit it well. The 6" strike face at rifle distances demands precise shot placement, and the spin on a clean hit gives you instant visual confirmation from hundreds of yards away without a spotter. Miss the center and the target either does not spin or spins weakly, giving you real-time feedback that sharpens both accuracy and trigger timing.

What calibers is this target rated for?
.308 Win at 100 yards minimum and up to .300 Winchester Magnum at 200 yards minimum using standard lead-core, copper-jacketed ammunition. The 1/2" AR500 plate handles the sustained impact energy of magnum rifle cartridges that would damage thinner targets. Increase distance if pitting is observed.

Why 1/2" AR500 instead of 3/8"?
The 1/2" thickness is what makes this target viable for magnum rifle cartridges at extended distances. A 3/8" plate rated to .308 at 100 yards would not hold up under the higher impact energy of .300 Win Mag loads. The extra thickness absorbs that energy without cratering, keeping the target in service through high round counts at distance.

How does the spinner mechanism work?
The target plate mounts on a shaft between two centering spacers that keep it centered while allowing it to rotate freely. A solid hit transfers rotational energy to the plate and it spins. The spacers prevent lateral movement that would cause the plate to wander off center over time, keeping the system running smoothly without adjustment between sessions.

How portable is this system?
The 22" cross member and 30" legs break down quickly and the entire system is compact enough to carry to and from the firing line without a cart. Everything ships in one box and assembles with the included hardware and instructions.

Does it ship painted?
No. The target ships as bare steel so you can apply your preferred color. White and bright orange provide the best downrange visibility at extended ranges.
