The 3/8" A-Zone Target Package bundles three 5.9"x11" AR500 A-Zone plates with three patented T-post hangers and all mounting hardware. The A-Zone dimensions mirror the IPSC scoring zone, making this package a natural fit for defensive pistol training, USPSA and IDPA practice and high-round-count carbine drills where a realistic scoring reference matters. Each plate is CNC laser-cut from domestic AR500 steel for consistent hardness, true edges and controlled splatter. Rated for all centerfire handguns and short-action rifles including .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at the distances below. Ships unpainted. Made in the USA.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect plates before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

What calibers is this package rated for?
All centerfire handguns at 10 yards minimum and short-action rifle cartridges including .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at 100 yards minimum. For rifles above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity, increase to 200 yards minimum and monitor plates for pitting after each session.

Why A-Zone dimensions?
The 5.9"x11" A-Zone plate mirrors the IPSC high-value scoring zone, giving you a realistic aiming reference for competition practice and defensive shooting drills. Training on a target that matches the zone you are scored on builds more transferable accuracy than training on arbitrary round or square plates.

Will the T-post hangers fit my existing T-posts?
The hangers are designed for standard steel T-posts available at farm, ranch and hardware stores. Post profiles can vary slightly by brand, so bring a hanger with you to confirm fit before purchasing posts. T-posts not included.

What if I want an all-steel setup with no wood or T-posts?
The Short Range Rifle Steel Target Stand is built entirely from target-grade steel and eliminates the need for 2x4 uprights or T-posts entirely.

Why CNC laser-cut instead of plasma-cut?
CNC laser-cutting controls the heat-affected zone more precisely than plasma cutting, preserving hardness at the plate edge. The result is a cleaner perimeter, longer plate life and more predictable splatter behavior on impact.

Does this package ship painted?
No. All ShootSteel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange offer the best contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. These targets are manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with ShootSteel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to ShootSteel specifications
