3/8" AR500 Round Gong Target

The 3/8" AR500 Round Gong Target is a versatile steel shooting target available in 4", 8", 10", 12" and 16" diameters. Each round gong is CNC laser-cut from domestic 3/8" AR500 steel and pre-drilled for 1/2" mounting hardware. Choose a smaller plate for more demanding precision work or a larger diameter for increased visibility and faster target acquisition. Target only. Hanger, stand, mounting hardware and paint are sold separately. Made in the USA.

The round gong design provides clear audible feedback on impact and works with several Shoot Steel mounting systems, including T-post hangers, static hangers, conduit gong stands and speed rack setups. The 3/8" AR500 plate is rated for all centerfire handguns and short-action rifles through .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at the proper minimum shooting distances. For larger targets, pair with the Rigid Conduit Gong Stand and 8" Rubber Chain Gong Target Mounting Kit. For a quick T-post setup, use the T-Post Gong Hangers Set of Two with chain.

Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Maximum rated cartridges: .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect the plate, hanger and mounting hardware before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

Does this target ship painted?
No. Shoot Steel targets ship unpainted. White target paint provides strong contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Yes. This product is manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

• Normal wear, pitting, cratering and target face degradation are not covered

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with Shoot Steel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to Shoot Steel specifications
