Heavy Duty Static Target Stand | 1/4" Steel | 32" Wide Base | Supports AR500/AR550

The Heavy Duty Static Target Stand is built for full-size, heavyweight steel plates that standard stands were not designed to support. The 32"x30.5" footprint and 1/4" steel legs give you a 33% thicker base than the standard static stand, 10" more lateral width and a ground-bite design that digs in under load and stays put round after round. If you are running 12"x20" or larger AR500 or AR550 plates, this is the stand that keeps them where you set them.

Pre-drilled spike ports let you pin the stand to dirt, gravel or sand in seconds using HD Spikes for maximum stability in any conditions. Assembly takes approximately five minutes using the included 1/2" Grade 8 bolts and lock nuts with two wrenches. Compatible with all ShootSteel static hangers and AR500/AR550 target plates. Target and hanger sold separately. Manufactured in the United States.

Quick Assembly

• Assemble the base using the included 1/2" Grade 8 bolts and two wrenches
• Slide your Static Target Hanger onto the upright
• Add your steel plate, level the stand and drive HD Spikes through the leg holes if desired
• Start shooting; no adjustments needed between strings

When packing up, pull spikes with a claw hammer rather than rocking the stand.

FAQs

What makes this stand different from the standard Static Target Stand?
Three things: leg thickness, footprint size and hardware grade. The legs are 1/4" mild steel versus 3/16" on the standard stand, which reduces flex and extends service life under heavy plates and sustained recoil vibration. The footprint is 10" wider at 32" versus 22" on the standard stand, which significantly improves lateral stability under large, heavy plates. The hardware is Grade 8 rather than standard grade, which handles the higher mechanical load of heavier plate combinations without loosening over time.

What size plates does this stand support?
The Heavy Duty stand is designed to confidently support 12"x20" and larger AR500 and AR550 plates. It works with any ShootSteel static hanger and is compatible with the full range of ShootSteel static target plates. For standard pistol-weight plates, the standard Static Target Stand is sufficient.

Do the HD Spikes come with the stand?
No. HD Spikes are sold separately. The pre-drilled spike ports accept standard 1/2" diameter spikes. When removing the stand, pull spikes with a claw hammer rather than rocking the stand itself.

Does this stand ship painted?
No. The stand ships as bare mild steel. Apply your preferred finish or leave it bare. The 1/4" wall thickness and Grade 8 hardware are what provide durability, not a surface coating.

Is a target and hanger included?
No. This is a stand-only product. Target plates and hangers are sold separately.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. Our stands are manufactured in the United States.
