The 2x4 Hybrid Gong Stand Brackets are the most affordable way to build a functional steel gong stand without sacrificing durability. The brackets combine proven 1" EMT conduit legs from your local hardware store with a standard 2x4 stud crossmember of any length, giving you a customizable gong stand at a fraction of the cost of a complete conduit or steel stand. CNC laser-cut from 1/4" AR400, each bracket handles up to 75 lbs. of target weight and all components are fully user-serviceable and replaceable. Setup is straightforward. Buy two lengths of 1" EMT conduit at any hardware store and cut each in half to make four legs. Drill the required holes, attach the legs to the brackets using the included locking pins and mount the assembly to any length 2x4 stud crossmember. For chain and quick link hardware, pair with the Steel Chain Mounting Kit or the Rubber Chain Mounting Kit. Sold as a set of two brackets with four locking pins. What makes this a hybrid stand?
Standard gong stands use either all-conduit construction or all-steel tubing for both the legs and crossmember. This design uses 1" EMT conduit for the legs, which is inexpensive and available at any hardware store, and a standard 2x4 stud for the crossmember, which lets you choose any length to set your target spacing. The AR400 brackets are the structural connectors that tie the two together. The result is a functional, durable gong stand at significantly lower cost than a complete steel or conduit stand.

What conduit do I need and where do I get it?
You need two standard lengths of 1" EMT conduit, cut in half to produce four equal legs. EMT conduit is available at any hardware or home improvement store in standard lengths. Cut with a pipe cutter or hacksaw, drill the required holes per the included instructions and attach to the brackets using the locking pins.

How much weight can this stand support?
The brackets support targets up to 75 lbs. with ease. Maximum weight capacity beyond that depends on conduit leg length and ground conditions. Do not exceed 75 lbs. of hanging target weight.

Can I use any length 2x4 for the crossmember?
Yes. The brackets mount to any standard 2x4 stud, which means you can choose the crossmember length to match your target spacing needs. A longer 2x4 lets you hang multiple targets across the rack. A shorter one keeps the setup compact for single-target use.

Are the parts replaceable if damaged?
Yes. All components are fully user-serviceable. The conduit legs are standard hardware store items. The locking pins are replaceable separately. The AR400 brackets are the only ShootSteel-specific component and can be ordered as a replacement set.
