The 3/8" AR500 5" Static Target Bundle gives you five compact AR500 steel plates ready to mount to T-posts, 2x4 uprights or any suitable structure. The 5" size is a precision challenge at any distance: small enough to demand tight shot placement from a pistol at close range and a genuine test of accuracy from a rifle at distance. Each plate is CNC laser-cut from domestic 3/8" AR500 steel with a 1/2" mounting hole sized for a carriage bolt. Safety and Usage

Minimum shooting distances:

• Centerfire handgun: 10 yards minimum
• Rifle at or below 3,000 fps muzzle velocity (.308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor): 100 yards minimum
• Rifle above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity: 200 yards minimum
• Increase distance any time you observe pitting on the target face

Always shoot perpendicular to the target face. Use at least Grade 5 mounting hardware. Use quality eye and ear protection. Inspect plates before every session and replace any plate that shows cratering or severe pitting. Repaint regularly to track impacts and monitor surface health. No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition.

All centerfire handguns at 10 yards minimum and short-action rifle cartridges including .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor at 100 yards minimum. For rifles above 3,000 fps muzzle velocity, increase to 200 yards minimum and monitor the plate for pitting after each session.

What mounting options work with these plates?
Each plate has a 1/2" carriage bolt hole and is compatible with a wide range of mounting options. The Static Target Hanger mounts to a 2x4 vertically. The Speed Rack Hanger attaches to a 2x4 horizontally. The Patented T-Post Static Hanger lets you mount directly to a standard steel T-post with no additional structure required.

Why 5" plates specifically?
The 5" diameter is a precision challenge that scales well across distances and disciplines. At pistol distances it demands controlled trigger work and a refined sight picture. At rifle distances it becomes a meaningful accuracy benchmark. Running five plates in a session gives you enough repetition to identify and correct patterns in your shooting without changing targets.

Why CNC laser-cut instead of plasma-cut?
CNC laser-cutting controls the heat-affected zone more precisely than plasma cutting, preserving hardness at the plate edge. The result is a cleaner perimeter, longer plate life and more predictable splatter behavior on impact.

Does this bundle ship painted?
No. All ShootSteel targets ship unpainted. White and bright orange offer the best contrast downrange for tracking hits.

Is this product made in the United States?
Yes. These targets are manufactured in the United States from domestic AR500 steel.

To qualify for warranty coverage, targets must be used and maintained in accordance with ShootSteel safety and distance guidelines, including:

• No steel-core, armor-piercing or tracer ammunition
• Minimum recommended distances observed at all times
• Target mounted to ShootSteel specifications
