How is this different from the 2x4 Hybrid Gong Stand Brackets?
The 2x4 Hybrid Gong Stand Brackets use 1" EMT conduit for the legs and a 2x4 for the crossmember only. These brackets build a full A-frame stand using 2x4 lumber for both the legs and crossmember, which makes them even more accessible since standard dimensional lumber requires no cutting or drilling beyond basic carpentry. The A-frame profile also provides a different geometry than the conduit-leg hybrid design, giving you a wider base stance for heavier or larger target setups.

What lumber do I need?
Standard construction-grade 2x4 studs are available at any hardware or home improvement store. The bracket set accommodates any standard 2x4 dimension. Cut legs to your preferred height and crossmember to your preferred width for the target spacing you need.

How much weight and impact energy can this stand handle?
The brackets support targets up to 80 lbs. and are rated to 4,500 ft-lbs of impact energy, which covers the full range of standard pistol and rifle gong applications up to the maximum rated target weight.

What is the best way to hang a gong from this stand?
You can screw rubber chain mounts directly into the 2x4 crossmember for a simple, low-cost setup. For a cleaner and more adjustable configuration, use our 2x4 Hybrid Gong Hangers, which allow you to reposition the target along the crossmember without drilling new holes.

Do the brackets ship painted?
No. The brackets ship as bare AR400 steel. Apply your preferred finish or leave them bare.
