Static Target Stand | Zinc-Plated | Spike-Anchor Base

The Static Target Stand is built to hold your steel target dead-still so every shot gives you honest feedback. The 18"x22.5" base spreads weight for maximum stability on dirt, gravel and grass, and four corner spike holes let you drive in HD spikes to lock the stand in position on any terrain. The base and upright are CNC-cut mild steel, zinc-plated for long-term weather and corrosion resistance without repainting. All hardware is 1/2" for universal compatibility with ShootSteel static hangers. Target and hanger are sold separately. Manufactured in the United States.

Quick Assembly

• Slide the upright into the base
• Tighten the two included 1/2" bolts with a wrench or socket
• Add your Static Target Hanger and target plate
• Drive spikes through the corner slots to lock the stand in place

When packing up, pull spikes with a claw hammer rather than rocking the stand itself.

Minimum shooting distances are determined by the target plate used with this stand. Always inspect the stand, hanger and hardware before every session. Replace any component that shows deformation or structural damage. Follow standard ShootSteel minimum distance guidelines for your cartridge and target combination. Always use quality eye and ear protection.

FAQs

Do the spikes come with the stand?
No. HD spikes are not included but are available at hardware and farm supply stores. Standard 1/2" diameter spikes fit the corner cutouts. When removing the stand, pull spikes with a claw hammer rather than rocking the stand, which can stress the base welds over time.

What hangers are compatible with this stand?
This stand is compatible with all ShootSteel static hangers that use 1/2" hardware. The Static Target Hanger is the recommended pairing for tool-free target swaps at the range.

Why zinc-plated instead of painted?
Zinc plating bonds to the steel at a molecular level rather than sitting on the surface as a coating. It resists rust and corrosion through seasons of outdoor use without chipping, flaking or requiring repainting. Paint would need to be touched up after direct hits and repeated weather exposure. Zinc plating does not.

How does the spike system improve stability?
The 18"x22.5" base footprint alone provides good stability on flat, firm ground. On softer or uneven terrain, driving spikes through the four corner holes pins the base to the ground and eliminates any movement under recoil vibration or wind. The combination of wide footprint and optional spike anchoring gives this stand its stability advantage over narrower bases and non-anchored designs.

No. This is a stand-only product. Target plates and hangers are sold separately.
