About Steel Challenge

Steel Challenge – 5 To Go is one of eight official SCSA (Steel Challenge Shooting Association) classifier Stages. The Steel Challenge Competition is a very fun sport for shooters of all ages and skill levels. This practical shooting competition involves speed and accuracy as you race against the clock to improve your time! Competitors shoot each target when the timer starts, ending on the designated Stop Plate, which stops the timer. Competitors will do each stage 5 times, taking their best 4 times combined as their score. Outer Limits is the exception, which will be the best three out of four strings. Adding each stage together gives the competitor a match score, lowest score/time wins the match!

You don’t need to be a pro to enjoy the steel challenge – it’s a fun way for anyone to improve their shooting!

All round targets, except for the Pendulum stage, are 5′ high to the top of the target as viewed from the box. The rectangles are 5’6″ to the top of the target as viewed from the box. All targets should be set to appear level at their designated height from the shooting box.

 This Steel Challenge Target Package – 5 To Go

Steel Challenge – 5 To Go includes (4) 10″ and (1) 12″ AR500 Steel Targets cut from 3/8″ Steel. Additionally, this package has the option to add our Static Target Hangers and Heavy Duty Static Stand.   We’ve selected/recommended the Heavy Duty Static Stand these packages to avoid shifting of the target as you shoot, even the heavy 18″ x 24″ rectangle targets. The Steel Challenge – 5 To Go package is also meant to be fixed with 2×4’s so you can cut the length to match the correct heights for regulation competition. This comes especially handy on uneven ground!

Even for the deadeye marksman can chew up 2x4s in a hurry. We recommend our 2×4 protectors plates to help with that – They come as 12″ protector plates or 20″ protector plates.
